A durable relic of Cold War-era military engineering, the Plash-Palatka ("raincoat-tent") is a multifunctional shelter half issued to Soviet and Warsaw Pact troops from World War II through the late 20th century (and beyond into the 21st century). It was designed to serve as both a rain poncho and a modular shelter component.
